‘Everybody Knows’ heads to Canada Gala Presentations

‘Everybody Knows’ by Iranian Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi is set to screen at 2018 Toronto Film Festival.

The flick will be screened at Galas 2018 of the event to run September 6-16.

Programmers of the event screened roughly 7,000 films before deciding which films to showcase, a report says.

Farhadi’s new offering will be screened along with works from countries such as the US, Canada and the UK.

Gala Presentations section of the event read, “Academy Award winner Asghar Farhadi (‘A Separation’, ‘The Salesman’) directs Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem in this layered, psychological drama about a family wedding interrupted by a shocking crime and some long-buried secrets.

Celebrity couple Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem star in the flick which premiered at the latest edition of Cannes Film Festival.

Toronto Film Festival is a great platform for movies hoping to be in the Oscar race. '12 Years a Slave' is a case in point with the Academy Award badge.
